Back to news

According to the recently published list of the best countries to live, Scandinavian countries come out on top. Finland is number one, Sweden, Norway and Denmark are all in top ten. They might be the best countries to live, but what about their airlines? Are they also so good? Let's have a look!

Blue1

Blue1 is an airline based in Helsinki, Finland and has been a Finnish SAS Group airline company since 1998. Blue1 is the second largest airline in Finland and operates on both domestic routes within Finland and on routes to Scandinavian destinations and the rest of Europe. The airline operates from its hub in Helsinki direct flights to Stockholm, Copenhagen, Gothenburg as well as Oslo.

From the Scandinavian hubs in Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen you can fly to Europe, the USA and the Far East. The aim of Blue1 is to be considered as the best regional airline for Northern European leisure and business travelers.

Cimber Sterling

Cimber Sterling, also known as Cimber, is a danish airline based in Sønderborg, Denmark. Its main bases are airports in Copenhagen and Billund. Denmark's leading airline operates flights on domestic and regional routes, provides services from Denmark to selected international destinations for both business and leisure travelers.

Iceland Express

Iceland might by left out of the list by the editors, but that does not mean it is a bad place to live. Or that it has bad airlines. Iceland Express is a low cost airline with its headquaters in Reykjavik, Iceland and flies to various airports in Scandinavia, England, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Italy and Poland.

Iceland Express also brings tourists to Iceland. According to the Icelandic Tourism Board the number of tourists has risen by over 150% by 2003 – the year the airlines began operations.

Whether you live in the Northern Europe and want to see the world or you want to visit this part of the Old Continent some day, we hope you choose the best suited airline for you.
