Strategic Airlines to begin flights to the United States
Strategic Airlines is Australia's newest passenger airline. Its long-haul operations are to grow massively in September with the opening of new routes to the United States.
Strategic Airlines is also said to be preparing to change its name to Air Australia.
The seventh airline to fly between Australia and the US
The intention to start flying to the US has been revealed thanks to the airline's application to the International Air Services Commission. It is an Autralian government agency responsible for allocation of the international air route capacity. If approved, Strategic Airlines Pty Ltd should begin its US flights from September.
Strategic doesn't operate aircraft capable of non-stop flights to the US mainland. Speculations suggest that the airline will be targeting Honolulu initially, competing with Jetstar Airways and Hawaiian Airlines currently flying these routes. Strategic however stated that it doesn't intend to enter the routes currently serviced by it's larger competitors.
