Here we have prepared an overview of routes launched or updated during the last week.
The relaunch of RAK Airways
The national airline of the northernmost of the United Arab Emirates, RAK Airways, has begun its operations again on November 10th. It is now relaunched with a new management after it shut down in 2009. With its only aircraft it serves routes Ras Al Khaimah – Calicut and Ras Al Khaimah – Jeddah.
SpiceJet starting international routes
SpiceJet has met the Indian criteria for launching international flights and is now launching two. The airline has been in operation for more than five years and has a fleet of over 20 aircraft. New routes are Delhi – Kathmandu and Madras – Colombo.
AirTran's new route
From it's Milwaukee base a new route Milwaukee – New Orleans will be operated daily. it is the first ever non-stop connection between these two cities.
Three new routes by Allegiant
Twice a week, three new routes began their operation with Allegiant. New service has been launched between Las Vegas – Pueblo Memorial. Idaho Falls are now operated from Long Beach (LGB) instead of Los Angeles International. Newly a flight between Phoenix and Fort Collins is also in operation.
Dutch ArkeFly now flying to Goa and Colombo
New long-haul route by ArkeFly with a 767–300ER Boeing will be flying weekly Amsterdam – Colombo via Goa,India.
GulfAir resumes Bahrain Colombo connection
The route introduced in 1976 and closed in 2002 is again open. Five weekly flights will be operated by A320s. The service returns as Sri Lanka's security situation is back in order.
News from Pegasus Airlines
A daily service has been launched on October 9th between Istanbul – Tbilisi.
Phuket operated by Quatar Airways
Virgin America's two new routes
Daily flights to Orlando, Florida have been launched from both Los Angeles International (LAX) and San Francisco. The mayor of Orlando city implied the positive impact on this famous vacation destination's economy.
New flight to Hawaii
Two weekly flights by Hawaiian Airlines have been launched between Las Vegas – Kahului.
airBaltic's new route to Milan
The Latvian national airline airBaltic will start it's flights between Riga – Milan on October 31st. The flight with a Boeing 737 will take up to three hours. TIP: Milan is an ultimate shopping city.
