Australia's busiest airport welcomes a new airline. It is the fifth China based company to fly from Sydney airport. This clearly reflects that Australia is becoming more and more attractive for the Chinese. Which route is being added?

Sydney's growing importance at the Chinese market

The flights will be operated three times a week on the route Sydney Kingsford Smith (SYD) – Shenzhen and further to Xiaoshan (HGH). The airline chose to fly an Airbus A330 on the route. The increasing popularity of Sydney in the last few years is easily demonstrated by these numbers. In 2004 there were 147,148 Chinese passengers arriving at Sydney while in 2010 the number almost doubled to 282,641. Hainan Airlines is operating an extensive domestic network and is commencing international expansion.

Location is the advantage

Sydney, being Australia's most important airport, has an advantage of a very good location. Only 8 kilometers away are the world-famous landmarks as the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. This makes the city very tempting for leisure travelers. The Chinese have really learned to love Australia, New South Wales especially with 55% of the China born people living in this territory.
